One superfan got a Halloween makeover as both Princess Leia and Rey.
Princess Leia buns have been a staple of the Halloween beauty scene since the late ’70s—but 2015’s The Force Awakens gave Star Wars fans a new hairstyle to learn and copy: Rey’s segmented buns. We tapped Star Wars superfan Jenna Rosenstein for the ultimate Halloween makeover/tutorial, in which we transformed her into both Princess Leia and Rey…last name TBD.
Learn how to recreate Leia’s 1970s coral and peach makeup look and her iconic double buns with the expertise of MAC Cosmetics senior artist Michelle Clark and celebrity hairstylist Matt Fugate. Rey’s makeup is decidedly more toned-down, but Clark gave Rosenstein that Jakku sun-kissed vibe with a few faux freckles created with a brow pen. The tutorial should tide you over until December’s release of The Last Jedi, which might fans to the next generation of iconic Star Wars beauty looks.
